Noteworthy: Sanchez anchored the defense Saturday afternoon, making 16 saves in the cage as the Wolves defeated Agoura 14-8 in the CIF Southern Section’s Division 3 boys lacrosse championship match at El Modena High School. Sanchez was strong throughout the match, registering eight saves during each half. But he was at his best after intermission, allowing only two goals as King erased a 6-5 deficit to claim the program’s first section title. Sanchez allowed three combined goals in the second half in the victories over the division’s No. 1-seeded team (West Ranch) and No. 2-seeded team (Agoura).
